TEAM BUILDING DAY 2023 - Barefoot Bowls at Melbourne Bowling Club

our team

Everyone at Neo Construct, regardless of their role, is an experienced, dedicated professional who is committed to achieving the outcomes required to deliver projects on time, on budget and to the total satisfaction of the client.

As a team, we have built a reputation with our clients for being extremely well organised, highly knowledgeable, confident, accessible, and thorough in our approach to each project.

Within the core management group are seven site / project managers, all trade qualified, who between them have more than 150 years of industry experience covering almost every type of commercial and residential project.

director and construction manager

Gary Hartley

To manage and grow a successful construction company in a highly competitive and, at times, uncertain economic environment requires strong management skills, extensive experience and knowledge of the industry, and an ability to be able to see both the big picture and the detail.

Beginning “on the tools” over 47 years ago, Gary has the industry ‘know-how’ which enables him to manage the diversity of projects his company is contracted to build.

Gary’s 25 years of experience as owner / manager of construction companies has seen him adopt new work practices, meet the demands of changing social and environmental requirements, and adapt to working with new products and materials.

His current roles include overseeing and monitoring all of Neo Construct’s projects to ensure that the company’s reputation for efficient, professional service and high-quality workmanship is maintained and delivered across all projects. In addition, he actively engages with new and existing clients to build and expand on current relationships and to broaden Neo Construct’s project experience.

project manager

David Williams

Commencing with Neo Construct as a labourer in 2008, David discussed with management his desire to progress his career. For 6 years he worked with as a contracts administrator, and during this period David advanced his education, obtaining a Diploma in Building & Construction. Upon completing this study, he was promoted to project manager.

David is a significant contributor to the company, managing some of our most important clients. He has managed over 50 institutional projects in various formats, and he is highly respected by our clients, architects and consultants, along with all of those who he has business dealings with.

Project Manager

Cameron Shepherd

Cameron joined Neo Construct as an apprentice carpenter in 2013, and completed his apprenticeship on a range of projects supervised by some of our most experienced site managers. In 2016, he moved into the office and took up a role as contracts administrator. Cameron quickly adapted to the role, and naturally progressed to a project manager.

Cameron is essential to the core business; he assists with managing our HSEQ portal Hammertech and also many estimating duties. In 2021, he added to his qualifications by completing the Diploma in Building & Construction. Cameron’s communication skills are excellent, and he is an extremely valued member of our team.

Both David and Cameron have worked with Gary on numerous projects and many roles within the company. These two individuals work extremely well together and are more than capable of running the entire company. The time invested in this next generation of leaders has been well spent as they prepare themselves for more senior roles within the organisation.
